Presentation Description: This proposal presents a high-density, high-efficiency USB PD-compliant power adapter design with a 180 W output, featuring an EPR voltage range of 5 V – 36 V / 5A load current. The design enables up to 95% end-to-end conversion efficiency while using a flyback topology and synchronous rectification (SR) for the output. The combined flyback and SR controller achieves lossless switching of the primary switch without additional power components by employing the output SR circuit to induce Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) on the primary side. The universal input design includes a PFC stage with a highly integrated DCM controller, featuring a 750 V GaN Switch, and active-bridge input rectification to further enhance the efficiency.
