Presentation Description: High frequency switching in solar inverters offers the advantage of reducing transformer size and cost. Gallium Nitride (GaN) bidirectional monolithic switches present an inherent cost benefit over traditional back-to-back discrete configurations. However, managing the substrate in monolithic GaN switches poses a challenge, potentially compromising efficiency and reliability if not properly addressed. To overcome this, an integrated solution is introduced that autonomously biases the substrate. A high-frequency AC-AC test platform, utilizing a custom isolated driver, is constructed to demonstrate the in-circuit performance of GaN bidirectional switches at 500 kHz.
