Achieving ultra-high step-down using high frequency transformers is difficult as the minimum duty cycle limit and leakage inductance of the transformer limits the operation. In order to circumvent these issues a DTT based Resonant Reset Forward Converter is proposed in this paper. The converter is characterized under steady state and a step by step design method to implement the DTT is proposed. Experimental verifications carried out with a 600 V to 12 V/ 200 W converter demonstrates the operation. The peak efficiency recorded is 85 %.
