This study provides a comparative analysis of modulation techniques for Dual Active Bridge (DAB) DC-DC converters to determine their effectiveness in various operating scenarios. The techniques evaluated include Single Phase Shift (SPS), Double Phase Shift (DPS), Enhanced Phase Shift (EPS), and Triple Phase Shift (TPS). The modulation techniques are evaluated in terms of RMS value of inductor current and complexity for all available power range. Specific practical implementation details are discussed for the experimental setup, which includes a wide input voltage range of 510V to 770V, with 5.6kW output power and 28V DC output voltage. The experimental results corroborate the theoretical analysis, demonstrating the advantages and distinctions inherent to modulation techniques.
