Recently Zero-Bias Trans-Inductor Voltage Regulator (ZB-TLVR) has been introduced to power high performance processors for AI and cloud computing applications with superior transient performance and the potential of better power density and efficiency. This digest proposes a constant on-time control algorithm for ZB-TLVR. A current balance loop and a ramp compensation are developed to address the challenges related to interleaving and phase current balancing. A 8-phase ZB-TLVR test platform was built and the test results verified the performance of the proposed control approach.
