The Sling Forward Converter (SFC) is an advanced DC-DC converter designed for offline applications, providing efficient performance across a wide voltage range. It utilizes the transformer's magnetizing current to achieve Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) for the main power switch, reducing transformer size and switching losses. This ensures the output inductor current remains stable despite voltage variations, maintaining high efficiency. Experimental validation through a 200W prototype, supported by MATLAB simulations, confirms the SFC's consistent performance across input voltages from 200V to 400V. By combining the continuous energy transfer of forward converters with ZVS capabilities, the SFC addresses the limitations of traditional topologies. It offers a robust and efficient solution, making it suitable for applications requiring reliable, wide-range voltage handling.
