This paper presented a multi-mode control algorithm for totem pole bridgeless PFC: the PFC operates at Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) at heavy load, and Triangular Current Mode (TCM) with zero voltage switching (ZVS) at light load. It combines the advantages of both CCM and TCM operations, resulting in a high efficiency, high power density and low cost totem pole bridgeless PFC solution. In addition, a smooth CCM/TCM transition is achieved in each half AC cycle, no input current distortion during the mode transition.
