An alternative version of TLVR, named Zero-Bias TLVR, has been proposed in recent years. This new topology employs magnetic flux cancellation in all windings, thus enabling a much lower saturation requirement and higher density. At the same time, this topology also introduces an asymmetry, since the special Lc phase has a different inductance value compared to that of the other phases. A modeling approach is developed here to analyze the circuit, and the transient inductance of each phase (or the current slew rate of each phase), is derived to facilitate the control loop design. Simulation and experiments are described to verify this modeling approach.
