The SCMaglev, or Superconducting Maglev, is a mass transit system that runs at ultra-high speed, and is currently under construction for commercial operation in the near future. The SCMaglev operates in both wheeled and levitating states, and utilizes the Dynamic-WPT system to supply power on each state. The DWPT system has several unique features, including a large power capacity, a long length primary loop, multiple pairs of pair of on-board coils and converters, and etc. This paper introduces the features of the SCMaglev’s DWPT system, compare it with other DWPT systems, provide the details on the electric characteristics of the primary loop, which has notable features, and present data obtained regarding power supply during operation at speeds of 500km/h.
