In order to reduce the negative impact of grid swell on sensitive loads and improve the limitations of the dynamic voltage restorer (DVR) to cope with voltage swell, this paper introduces the composite control method on the basis of the proposed reactive power compensation calculation method and the closed-loop control strategy of the load voltage magnitude and the active output of the inverter, which solves the problem of pow-er factor fluctuation of loads and guarantees the system's response time at the same time. Finally, the experiments are conducted with three single-phase back to back type DVRs as an example, and the results of the tests verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control.
