Fernando Salcedo M.S.E.E - Fernando Salcedo is a Technology Development Manager as part of the Electrification team for the Vehicle Technologies Office (VTO) at the Department of Energy. His focused research areas at VTO include: the application of innovative power electronics and power semiconductor devices for advancing vehicle electrification and vehicle grid integration (VGI), as well as identifying new technologies, trends, and critical areas for research and development (R&D). Fernando received his M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University in 2020 and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the same university in 2017. He has years of experience designing and developing power dense power electronics converters utilizing Wide Bandgap (WBG) power semiconductors for a variety of applications. His research interest includes power dense power electronics design and development, advanced feedback and controls, WBG power semiconductors, electric vehicles traction drives, DC Fast Charging (DCFC), power generation, and vehicle grid integration.
