Bowen Yang is a researcher specializing in power electronics and electric machines. He earned his B.Sc. from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 2018 and his Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, USA, in 2023. Currently, he is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), where he advances research in next-generation power electronics. His interests include advanced control of grid-forming (GFM) inverters and modular multilevel converters (MMC), power system black-starts, cyber-physical systems, and machine learning, with applications in power system modernization, microgrids, electric vehicles, and intelligent manufacturing.
