Dr. Wei Mu is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Engineering at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Cambridge Power Electronics Laboratory. He is under the supervision of Professor Teng Long and is a member of Jesus College, Cambridge. His Ph.D. studies are fully funded through a joint scholarship provided by the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge, and NIO Automotive.
Dr. Wei Mu graduated from Zhuhai No. 1 High School in Guangdong Province and subsequently earned a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 2019 and a Master's degree in 2022. During his studies, he participated in a dual degree Master's program between Xi'an Jiaotong University and CentraleSupélec, Université Paris-Saclay, in France, where he received the French engineering degree, Diplôme d'Ingénieur.
To date, he has published 17 papers in SCI JCR Q1 journals, numerous papers at top industry conferences, and filed seven patents. His research in semiconductor packaging and applications has garnered extensive media coverage from several leading industry authorities and has been included as a landmark research achievement in a case study by the Henry Royce Institute in the UK. He also won the 1st place award for his poster presentation at the UK Power Electronics Conference.
His research interests include the application and integration of wide bandgap power semiconductors, packaging design, reliability analysis, thermal management and modeling for power electronic converters, AI-based condition monitoring, and data center power supplies.
