Queens University
Dr. Liu (Fellow, IEEE 2013; Fellow, CAE 2018) is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Queen’s University, Canada. He received his Ph.D. from Queen’s University in 1994 after completing his B.Sc. and M.Sc. at Zhejiang University, China. Previously, he was a Technical Advisor at Nortel Networks. His research focuses on power electronics, with over 300 IEEE publications, 65 U.S. patents, and contributions to two IEEE standards. He is an Editor of IEEE JESTPE and has held leadership roles in IEEE PELS, including Vice President of Technical Operations (2017–2020) and General Chair of ECCE 2019. His awards include the IEEE PELS Modeling and Control Achievement Award (2017).
