Ranjan Kumar Behera, received the B. Eng. degree in electrical engineering from the Regional Engineering College (now NIT) Rourkela, Rourkela, India, and the M. Tech. and Ph.D. degrees from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, Kanpur, India, in 1998, 2003, and 2009, respectively. He worked at Hindustan Aeronautic Limited, Sunabeda, India as trainee engineer. Since May 2009, he is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering at IIT Patna, where he became ‘Head of the Department’ in Jan. 2016 to 31st March 2019. During July 2008- Feb. 2009, he was as a ‘Visiting Scholar’ in the Energy Systems Research Center, Tennessee Technological University, USA and also as a visiting research collaborator at ECE department, University of Pretoria, South Africa during July 2016. He got several national and international awards such as Young scientists award in engineering sciences, from DST, Government of India, 2001, Selected as the featured engineer of the globe 2015, USA and Bhaskara Advanced Solar Energy (BASE) Award, Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum, 2014 for doing Solar research in Energy Systems Research Center, Tennessee Technological University, USA. Included in the World's Top 2% Scientists for year 2022 and 2023 and list is compiled annually by Stanford University. He received Outstanding Paper Award for the IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics for year 2022, held in Brussels, Belgium and received $3000 cash. He published 134 research articles in different national international journals and conference proceedings. He delivered more than 200 technical and 420 motivational lectures in India and around the globe. He is co-authored a Book entitled, “Power Electronics, Drives and Advanced Applications,” CRC Press, April 17, 2020, and edited a book, Applied Artificial Intelligence (AI) to Green Power Technology, Nova Science Publishers, Inc., 17th November 2022.
