Adam Ruszczyk received his title of MSc in E.Eng. at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Bialystok Technical University in Industrial Automation specialty in 1996. He defended his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Białystok Technical University in 2005. Ph.D. thesis was concerned on Non-linear Model Predictive Control methods for drive and grid connected converters. From 1996 to 2008 he worked at the Department of Power Electronics and Electrical Drives at Technical University of Białystok as lecturer and assistant professor. In 2008 he started working at the ABB Corporate Research Center in Krakow in research areas related to control, power electronics and solid-state switches. In 2019 he has been involved in work related to PE energy conversion systems for DC traction. Since 2022 he joined Hitachi Energy Poland Technology Center, were he is co-creating a team designing power electronics systems based on SiC semiconductors technology. He is the author or co-author of 17 patents and over 80 conference publications or journal papers.
His main areas of interest remain power electronic converters, their topologies, semiconductor devices, passive components and control methods in AC/DC, DC/AC and DC/DC applications.
