Jean-Marc Blaquière is an electrical engineer (Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers). From 1988 to 1996, he worked in power electronics for several companies before joining the University of Le Havre. Since 2001, he has been working at the LAPLACE laboratory (Toulouse) as a power electronics engineer for CNRS. His research focuses on two main areas: high-power multilevel converters and the safe, fault-tolerant operation of converters. He develops test benches for innovative components (IGCTs, SiC power MOSFETs, diamond-based components), drivers optimized for next-generation technologies, and converters for applications in electrical networks (railways, aerospace, renewable energy). His expertise includes electric power distribution (up to 2 kA and 3.5 kV), modeling and measuring parasitic elements in cabling (e.g., busbar design), cooling systems (e.g., water-cooled plates), mechanical integration (e.g., 3D design), and mechanical assembly (e.g., press-pack component clamping).
