Xiaoyi Xia is a dedicated researcher in power electronics, currently pursuing his Ph.D. at York University. He earned his B.Eng degree in Electrical Engineering with first-class standing before completing his M.Sc. Eng in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Lakehead University in April 2021 and August 2023, respectively.
His research focuses on high-power converters, electrical drive systems, electric vehicles, and renewable energy conversion systems. Xiaoyi is actively engaged in designing a bidirectional AC/DC converter for electric vehicle (EV) fast charging stations, contributing to the advancement of efficient and sustainable charging infrastructure.
With a strong academic background and a passion for innovation in power electronics, Xiaoyi aims to enhance the reliability and performance of EV charging systems, supporting the integration of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) and grid-to-vehicle (G2V) functionalities.
