Marie Lawson (Member, IEEE) received the B.S. degree from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, New York, NY, USA, in 2004, and the M.S. degree from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, USA, in 2010. She is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree with the Center for Power Electronics Systems (CPES), Arlington, VA, USA, Virginia Tech. From 2004 to 2014, she was an Electronics Design Engineer with Northrop Grumman Power/Control Systems, Sykesville, MD, USA. Since 2014, she has been a Propulsion Electrical Engineer with Newport News Shipbuilding, Newport News, VA, USA. Her research interests include power conversion, modulation, control, and modeling, particularly combined with the utilization of wide-bandgap semiconductor devices.
