Abraham Gebregergis (S’12-M’08-SM’06) received the B.Sc. from University of Asmara (UOA), Asmara, Eritrea, the M.Sc. degrees from University of Stellenbosch, Stellenbosch, South Africa, and the Ph.D. degree from the Clarkson University, Potsdam, New York, USA, all in electrical engineering, in 2001, 2004, and 2007 respectively.
From 2001 to 2002, he was with the electrical engineering department of UOA as an assistant lecturer. From 2008 to 2013 he has been working for Delphi Steering and Nexteer Automotive in Saginaw, Michigan as senior electrical engineer at the Innovation Center. He was working as a Chief Scientist at Halla Mechatronics, Bay City, Michigan, where he is responsible for motor control for automotive applications between 2013 to 2018, and then worked as senior manager at Veoneer between 2018 and 2023. Currently, he has been working as a Senior Technical Specialist in Yazaki North America, Canton, Michigan. Dr Abraham has published several journal and conference papers. His research interests include electric machines and adjustable speed drives.
