Baskar Vairamohan, PE, CEM is a Program Manager in the Electrification and Customer Solutions Department at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). He currently leads electric technology research in the industrial (process heating) and non-road transportation sectors within the Electrification Program and EPRI’s Low Carbon Resources Initiative (LCRI). Mr. Vairamohan collaborates with electric utilities to develop roadmaps and Electrification program strategies.
Over the past few years, he has worked with various industrial and commercial clients, including food processing facilities, airports, and seaports, to develop decarbonization solutions that align with their climate goals.
Mr. Vairamohan brings over a decade of laboratory and field experience in testing, monitoring, and evaluating end-use electric technologies. He serves as a principal investigator on several ongoing research projects funded by state and federal entities such as the California Energy Commission, the U.S. Department of Defense, and the U.S. Department of Energy.
He has co-authored several industry-relevant research papers published in technical journals and conferences. Mr. Vairamohan holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the state of Tennessee.
