Dr. Andy Schroedermeier received his PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he was part of the Wisconsin Electric Machines and Power Electronics (WEMPEC) consortium. He is a Power Conversion Senior Specialist Engineer at Eaton, where he currently leads a US Department of Energy funded research project developing a medium voltage solid state transformer for EV charging infrastructure. He has experience in both medium voltage and low voltage power electronics, including multi-level converters, solid state circuit protection, and pulsed power test systems.
