Muhammad Farooq Umar received his B.Sc. degree in Electrical engineering from Lahore University of Management Sciences, Pakistan, in 2014. He has done master’s in electrical Power Engineering from U.S. Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy, National University of Sciences and Technology, Pakistan in 2018. He completed the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Illinois Chicago, USA in 2023. He was a recipient of the highly competitive Fulbright Fellowship award to pursue Ph.D. Currently, he is working as a postdoctoral research associate at Texas A&M University, Doha, Qatar. Umar has published 30+ journals and IEEE conference papers in his research career. He is a full member of IEEE. He serves as Vice Chair of IEEE IES Techincal Committee on Smart Grid and Chair of Ad Hoc Subcommittee on Smart Grid Resiliency & Cybersecurity.
