S. Ali Khajehoddinreceived Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering specialized in power electronics and their applications in renewable energy systems from Queens University, Kingston, Canada. For his doctoral research at Queen’s University, he focused on the design and implementation of compact and durable microinverters for photovoltaic (PV) grid-connected systems. As the Lead R&D Engineer, he worked toward mass production and commercialization of microinverters from 2010 to 2013 at SPARQ systems Inc. He is currently working as an Associate Professor at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. He is also an Associate Editor for the IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, and Journal of Emerging and Selected Topics in Power Electronics.
