In this paper, an operating method is proposed to reduce output voltage ripple with less output capacitance while improving efficiency by considering the commutation process of an always-dual-path hybrid (ADPH) DC-DC converter with soft charging using a sub-inductor. The feasibility of the proposed method is verified through experiments, demonstrating a 47.6 % reduction in output voltage ripple while improving efficiency at a rated load of 8 AOUT. Additionally, a method for adapting to changes in load current is also proposed and validated.
