Shibaura Institute of Technology
Katsuhiro Hata received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tokyo, Tokyo, Japan, in 2018. From 2016 to 2019, he was a Research Fellow with the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS). From 2019 to 2024, he was a Research Associate with the Institute of Industrial Science, the University of Tokyo. Since 2024, he has been an Associate Professor with Shibaura Institute of Technology, Tokyo, Japan.
His research interests include hybrid DC-DC converters, digital active gate driving, wireless power transfer, and e-mobility for transportation. He was the recipient of the Best Paper Award at the 2018 IEEE Transportation Electrification Conference and Expo, Asia-Pacific (ITEC-AP), the William M. Portnoy First Prize Paper Award at the 2022 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), the Best Paper Award at the 10th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference-ECCE Asia (IPEMC 2024-ECCE Asia).
